SOLDIER

It was a cold winter morning; she started her laptop to listen to the voice note send by her soldier from his army camp. He sent her voice notes everyday expressing his love and care for her. As she was about the play the voice note he hugged her from back. “Your back!!” she said in excitement. “Play it” he whispered in her ears and smiled hugging her tight.

She played it……

I lay down there,

With a hurt in my heart,

For that promise I had given you,

Given you in the very start,

I had said I would be there forever,

Forever by your side,

I remember that kiss you gave me when I left,

The kiss of love and care and a hope to see me again,

I will be back for you my love I said as I left,

As I walked away from you I felt a little pain,

Then when I looked back at you,

You smiled with a tear in your eye,

I swear I wanted to run back and hug you,

But I dint as I couldn’t bear the pain of a goodbye,

Now I lay down here,

With a hurt in my heart,

Thrown down by bullets,

Pierced straight through my heart,

I dint know it would be our last kiss,

I should have at least hugged and said goodbye,

I am sending you this as the token of my love,

I might not be with you but I will always protect you,

I will watch you from above making sure your always happy…
